A Survey on the medication by School Health Nurses in Incheon city

Abstract
|
|
|
The study surveys content of drugs used by School Health Nurses for treatment of emergency and disease and discusses their role in medication and others.
It. is based on 92 questionnaires collected from 54 primary school and 38 middle & high school in Incheon city(recovery of the questionnaires was 58.6% ´during November to December 1988).
The study reveals that many of the School Health Nurses try to use drugs as many as they want on the condition that their technical knowledge is enough to (56.5%), and the majority want to take regular training to deepen their professional ability(87.9%).
Most of them kept sufficient drugs required by the Ministry of Education as the firstaid medicine ; but also, kept some delicate drugs that don´t belong to the firstaid medicine, i e. antibiotics, sulfonamides, antihistamins, vitamines, etc.
Besides their current role in the Emergency Treatment and Prevention of Disease, they hope to take part in Health Education as a regular course for the pupil.
